I've just finished reading the triology written by Steig Laarson from Sweden. The first book is titled The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo. To start with Mr. Laarson turned 3 manuscripts in to his publisher at the same time and before they were published he passed away. How sad not to see how well his books were received and they have gone very well. They came out in Sweden and it was a couple of years before they really got picked up here in the states.
I enjoyed his characters so very much, different, a bit edgy, with mystery, excitement and a little sex thrown in to keep it all moving and seeming real.

You do learn alot about Swedens political climate...in the 1st book you learn how children are treated, in the 2nd & 3rd more how women are respected, which is very good. I'd recommend (if you are a reader) that you go straight to Amazon and check the books out...type in Steig Laarson and there they are. I ordered all three of mine from there...going for the cheaper copies of near new, good, etc. The first one was a paperback that looked like it had never been read and it came from Illinois, the 2nd book ended up being a larger size paperback, and the last one came as a hardbound........and those two came from Sweden and were extremely cheap. Good deal there. I'd offer you mine, but I'm passing them on first to Jerry and then Pat & Terri if they haven't gotten them from the library.
Honest they are great books..........Jerry's reading the first one now and is enjoying it, he's a slower reader than I am but then he spends so much time reading newspapers which keeps him from the book.
